Lone Star Shootout for Alaka

Houston (Texas) Cypress Falls Rivals250 linebacker Otaro Alaka has seen offers placed on the table from across the country.
LSU, Arkansas, Michigan, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Cal, Texas and Baylor were all drawn to 6-3, 210-pound outside linebacker, and two Texas teams have emerged as Alaka's leaders.

It will be an old school Lone Star Shootout as Texas and Texas A&M battle it out for Alaka's services. He has visited both schools and has seen firsthand what sets the two schools apart from the rest of his options.
"They're both close to home and they're both very good academic schools as well," Alaka said.
He has met both coaching staffs, he has seen both campuses, and he likes what he sees from both defenses. Both schools have the blessing of his parents, and even his brother Temi Alaka, who signed with Rice in February, has given him the go ahead for either school.
So where does he go from here?
"I'm going to go back one more time to both schools," Alaka said. "I'm probably the Texas spring game on March 30. The A&M one I'm not so sure."
Alaka admits the Longhorns hold an edge, and that it is more of a gut feel. He plans to check out both schools again, but did say it was "possible" he could commit to the Longhorns when he takes his next visit to Austin. If he decides to hold off on a decision he plans to make a decision soon after return visits to both Texas A&M and Texas.
This weekend Alaka was planning to attend the Rice Junior Day on Saturday, but will not be able to attend because of a family trip to Washington D.C.
As for any other schools in the mix, the standout linebacker makes it clear where he stands at this point.
"Not really at this moment, it's pretty much just those two," Alaka said.
Alaka is currently ranked No. 167 in the Rivals250.
