Lazarus ready to make decision

Michael Lazarus is ready to make his decision and a commitment should come sometime this week.
The Berkeley, Calif., three-star linebacker who has a top three of Arizona State, Cal and Fresno State said he's thought about this for a long time and after seeing his favorite play multiple times he's ready to end things - and he's happy to do it.

"I'm sort of down to that moment now," Lazarus said. "I'm in the process of having this over and not thinking about it.
"I kind of know where I'm going. I've been liking the program for a minute and after these few games watching them it got me more interested in them. I've been talking to the coaches and I should have my decision 100 percent later this week."
The last step for Lazarus, a 6-foot-2, 201-pound prospect who looked good at the RCS Los Angeles this spring, is for his mother to talk with the coaches, then the two will discuss things and reach the final decision.
Arizona State has been the favorite for some time but Cal and Fresno State cannot be counted out yet. Lazarus has a trip planned with the Sun Devils for this upcoming weekend.
"My mom wants to talk with the coaches," Lazarus said. "I'm going to give them a call and she'll call them, too, so once she gets done talking to them, we'll talk it over and then I'll probably push it toward the middle of the week.
"It's a big deal. I'm happy about it. I'm happy about the decision I'm going to make. The position they're going to have me at, I can see myself playing in a high-tempo defense. I'm really going to try to come in as a true freshman, compete and try to be the best."
