Lazarus names Pac-12 favorite

Michael Lazarus has only had limited communications with Oregon's coaching staff but the Ducks have jumped out as the early favorite for the 2014 linebacker from Berkeley, Calif.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound prospect said he's watched Oregon's success from afar and hopes to visit Eugene soon so he can talk more with the coaching staff and get a better feel for what it's like to play there.

"Oregon right now is my favorite," Lazarus said.
"What stands out about them is that they're a good program, a winning program and I want to take an unofficial down there soon.
"Right now they look like a great team, a nice team, they're all together and it looks like a fun environment to be in. I want to go down there and take a look for myself."
Oregon has shown some interest in Lazarus, who said Cal continues to recruit him and that he's hearing from Mississippi State and Missouri as well.
Since it's still so early, Lazarus is keeping all his options open and wants to hear from even more programs but Oregon does stand out for numerous reasons.
The Golden Bears also look good early in his recruitment since it's the hometown team and he said things are going well with the Cal staff.
Because other programs might get involved, Lazarus doesn't want t limit his options so he's open to everybody but the Ducks do have an early lead for his services.
"Recruiting is going well," Lazarus said.
"I'm happy with how things are going. I'm just keeping it open, keeping all my options open. Cal has been good but Oregon stands out right now."
