Jones adds offers

Louisville (Miss.) 2015 Rivals250 wide receiver Dontea Jones has had no shortage of attention on the recruiting front. Offers have already come in from the likes of Ole Miss, Miami, Mississippi State, and Tennessee, and he recently added the Florida Gators to his growing list.
"[Coach Phillips] said they've been trying to get in touch with me for awhile and he got in touch with me on Twitter and gave me his number and told me to call since he's not able to call me because I'm not a senior," Jones said. "I called and he was like you're a big time receiver out of Louisville and the best receiver in Mississippi, Florida really wants you, so I guarantee for a fact you have a scholarship here at Florida. He said I really want you down here."

Early on in the process, he listed Miami and Ole Miss at the top of his list, but the offer from the Gators has helped open his eyes.
"It really just opens up a lot for me," Jones said. "I just found out there's going to be a lot more schools trying to come in and I can't be focused on certain schools. It's really opened my mind up a lot. After awhile hopefully I have a lot more so i can have more where I can have better options for a decision."
In addition to Florida, Jones has also picked up an offer from the SMU Mustangs.
"That was a real big surprise to me," Jones said. "It's all the way in Dallas and they know my name. It was a pretty big offer. I know SMU throws the ball like 92-percent of the time. It's a real good school."
Arkansas and Missouri have also shown considerable interest. The Razorbacks have been sending handwritten letters and mentioned stopping through Louisville in the spring.
This summer he plans to take an unofficial visit to Miami, and is also looking at making a few other college stops over the course of the summer months.
As for the decision making process, Jones is currently not in a hurry.
"A lot of my coaches came and talked to me about it and asked me when I was going to be able to make my decision," Jones said. "I said I'm probably going to end up making it after my senior football season. I'm not really trying to speed the process up. It's been a great process so I'm trying to make it last as long as I can."
