Johnson close to a top five

Three-star wideout Garrett Johnson is taking the weekend to trim his list before announcing his top five. Johnson is close to double-digit offers, but he wants to narrow down his options sooner rather than later.
Two schools in the mix are Boston College and Kentucky. Both schools are staying in touch the most according to Johnson.

He is planning to take a summer tour to Cincinnati, Kentucky, and Louisville with some Orlando-area players in the next couple of weeks. The Cards haven't offered, but Johnson is hoping they extend him while on his visit.
So far, he has only checked out in-state schools. Last month he attended the Jimbo Fisher summer camp at Florida State. In the spring he watched a Miami practice and got a chance to see the Hurricanes up-close.
However, it appears he may get out of the state for college. He said, "I feel good with the coaches at Boston College and Kentucky. I've known Coach [Todd] Fitch at Boston College since my freshman year when he was at USF."
Kentucky is not far behind the Eagles. Johnson stated, "I'm most comfortable with Coach [Chad] Scott at Kentucky. Every time we talk we have a great conversation. It's not just football it's all subjects."
In addition to his relationship with Coach Scott, the ultra-quick flanker knows several players on the Wildcats roster. That could bode well down the road for UK.
"I want to see how it is outside of Florida and see how they run things. I know Jeff Badet, Jojo Kemp, and Blake McClain are already up there. UK is doing well in recruiting and the fans remind me of that on Twitter," laughed Johnson.
Last season, he accounted for over 1,000 yards of total offense to go with eight touchdowns.
He is unsure when he will make his decision. His first order of business is to release his top five on Sunday and take his remaining summer visits.
