Is Bennett getting close

UCLA is off to fast start on the recruiting front this year and especially on the offensive line. Of UCLA's six commitments so far, four are OLs and it sounds like No. 5 could be around the corner.
One of the top lineman we saw at the SoCal Nike Camp Sunday was La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat's Brandon Bennett. At 6-3.5, 335 pounds, Bennett is a mammoth guard prospect but moves well and was dominant in the one on one drills.

Bennett is strong (23 reps on the bench), physical and showed a nice mean streak. He also shows well on film and is much more athletic than he looks. In what was a pretty solid group of OLs Sunday, Bennett was regarded as one of the top three players at the position.
On the recruiting front, UCLA offered Bennett early in the process and it sounds like a commitment could be coming soon.
"I'm thinking hard about jumping on it," Bennett said. "UCLA is my top school and they already have four offensive linemen committed. I know they're only taking five this year so if I don't commit soon, that offer might not be there for long.
"I'm thinking it over for now and will wait until I feel 100% that it's the right decision. The other schools I like are USC, Colorado State and Stanford but UCLA is definitely on top for me right now."
