"Our corner Tony Russell, 5-foot-9, 175-pounds had nine interceptions his junior year and already his three this season," Chancellor assistant coach Christopher Lamb said. "He has great ball skills and a nose for making the big play when it's needed.
"He has drawn a lot of interest from schools like Georgetown, Norfolk State, Gardner-Webb, Elon and Youngstown State. More are waiting to see film. He's got good grades too, 3.2 GPA and 970 on the SAT."
The other prospect getting interest for 2010 is 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety Darian Talley.
"He's a safety and wide receiver for us," he said. "He has three interceptions this season and one touchdown receiving along with a couple rushing touchdowns.
"Many of the same schools are interested in him, Elon, James Madison and Towson. He has great hands and is a physical player."
The talent keeps coming for Chancellor as they have three prospects to watch in 2011.
"Athlete Micah Cunningham is already on the radar of several Division I-A programs," he said. "We also have 6-foot-8, 250-pound lineman Sam Marshall who runs pretty well. Then we have a running back, linebacker Josh Ernest. He provides a nice one, two combo with Cunningham in the backfield. He also flys around on defense."
