Hunter makes successful switch

Waller, Texas offensive lineman David Hunter has made a switch.
Hunter (6-foot-2, 270 pounds) moved from defensive line to offensive line this spring and has impressed coaches visiting the Greater Houston school.

"He just wasn't a defender, but on offense he's been great," Waller coach Jim Phillips said. "He has great feet, flexibility and strength for the position. Once he masters it he will be a college football player."
Phillips' evaluation was right seeing that Hunter received his first offer from McNeese State in mid-spring. Two Division I schools have verbally offered the hybrid athlete since the spring has ended.
"Boise State has verbally offered and I'm going to SMU's camp, where they said they would be offering," Hunter said. "I'm really feeling both of those schools, especially Boise State. They are an up-and-coming school and they seem fun to play for."
