Houston RB adds stack of offers

Since receiving his first official offer from Kansas State, the recruiting process got busy quickly for Houston Spring Woods running back Marcus Mendoza. It seemed like overnight for the speedster when he took his count from one to seven after just a few weeks.
Joining the Wildcats, Northwestern, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Indiana, and Iowa have all sent official offers to Mendoza. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound overnight star is not about to rush into a decision. Things are still wide open at this early stage of the game.

His list looks to grow even larger in the near future.
"Yeah, there have been a ton more offers," Mendoza said. "I think there may be more soon. Texas A&M seems like they're going to. I went to their Night of Champions because I couldn't make it to their junior day. They all knew who I was and they want me to come down to a couple of spring practices."
As for other travel plans, Mendoza says he has yet to cross that bridge yet. Other than camps, like the NIKE Football Training Camp in College Station, he's not sure of where else he might end up.
Mendoza says camps and official visits in the fall will determine where he takes his abilities come Signing Day. He was trying to make it to Oklahoma State's junior day, but with his track schedule was unable to attend.
"I'm just keeping it open right now," Mendoza said. "I'm really not trying to have a favorite school yet or anything."
