Houston OL returns from Texas Tech trip

Houston Madison offensive lineman Lee Almanza attended Texas Tech's junior day last weekend and hopes to have impressed the Red Raider coaching staff.
Almanza (6-foot-5, 295 pounds) hit the Houston Independent School District wire as a sophomore, anchoring a offensive line that reached the playoffs. He followed that season with an all-district performance as a junior.

"I really liked their campus and coaches," Almanza said about his trip to Texas Tech. "They have a new offensive line coach and it was cool over there. We went to a basketball game, which was cool also.
[Texas Tech] is my favorite school right now. I am also talking with Houston and Texas A&M."
Almanza attended the Texas A&M junior day where his district-mates Damian Square and Leroy Chevalier of Jack Yates High School verbally committed.
"I'm ready to get this process going and make a decision," Almanza said. "If Texas Tech were to offer, I would take it. I like their style of offense and how they use their linemen. Texas A&M was nice also.
Almanza also met Greater Houston players Texas City defensive back Kris Johnston and Cy Fair's Chris Lathrop on his trip.
