Houston had more than 1,200 yards of total offense his junior year, finishing with 820 yards and eight touchdowns rushing and caught 33 passes for 444 yards and nine touchdowns.
"When I get the ball, I know I can run with it," he said.
Alabama, Florida, Louisville, Penn State and Notre Dame are among the schools showing interest in Houston.
Houston is looking for a good all-around college experience.
"I am looking to go to a college where I can get better overall," he said. "Not just play football but get better at life."
Houston plans to camp at Florida this summer.
He credits the program at Seabreeze High, led by head coach Marc Beach with helping him develop into a Division I-A caliber athlete.
"It's helped me a lot," he said. "Over here you have to actually work. If you work, you will be a better person."
