Pearland, Texas defensive back Nicholas Saenz had been offered by Rice, Northwestern and Air Force midway through the spring. Houston coaches came through late and offered the first-team, all-district selection.
"I was excited to get the offer and I'm going to take an unofficial visit there next Friday," Saenz said. "If I like it the visit, I'm going to go ahead and commit.
"Anthony Evans went there a couple of years ago, but that was before my time. I just like being close to home and their program."
Saenz will also be visiting LSU's one-day camp and is receiving interest from Virginia Tech, but neither have offered.
