Horned Frogs impress Ford

MORE: Rivals250 DE talks Alabama commitment
Pineville (La.) 2015 offensive lineman Cody Ford grabbed his first scholarship offer from TCU in December. Since receiving the offer, he has been intrigued by the Horned Frog program, but he had yet to experience TCU firsthand.

He was able to change that over the weekend. He was in attendance Saturday as TCU's basketball team faced Kansas. On Sunday, he was able to get his first football experience at TCU's junior day. It's safe to say he was impressed.
"Oh my, it was so shocking," Ford said. "I didn't expect any of that. I loved it there."
There was one particular aspect of the trip which really stood out among the others.
"The stadium," Ford said. "I wasn't expecting to be that big, but when you walk through the gates it just hits you."
He also enjoyed sitting down and meeting head coach Gary Patterson.
"He was a real nice guy," Ford said. "On TV he may seem mean, but when you sit down with him he's a real nice guy."
TCU also made sure to let him know they liked what they saw in him and they hope to see a lot more of him in the future.
"They said I fit great and they're hoping to get me down there and they would love to see me in that purple," Ford said.
Ford currently holds offers from TCU, Louisiana Tech, and McNeese State, and is receiving interest from the likes of LSU, Arkansas, and Oklahoma State. After his visit to Fort Worth, TCU has vaulted up his list.
"Right now it's TCU at the top," Ford said. "For one, I like the classrooms. There's not that many people to a class, so it's easier for me to get one-on-one with the teachers and stuff. It's just the coaching staff is just unbelievable."
Since the start of the process, Ford has talked about making a preseason decision, but he admits TCU made him think.
Ford does not have any more junior days on his schedule at this time, but he does plan to attend the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour when it stops through New Orleans Feb. 22.
