Herring picks last visit, will reschedule Miami

Five-star athlete Thomas Herring (6-6, 292, 4.8) from Los Angeles (Calif.) Fremont is one of the nation’s top prospects and most sought after. Herring has to cancel his visit to Miami (Dec. 12th) because his team is playing in the Los Angeles Invitational City Championship game on the 13th at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Herring and his Fremont teammates routed Woodland Hills (Calif.) El Camino Real 36-14 for the opportunity to play Los Angeles (Calif.) Locke.

If anyone doubted why Herring is one of the most coveted players in the nation, all doubts would have been removed if you were in the audience for Fremont’s last game against ECR.
Herring playing at his defensive end picked off a pass and took the ball housebound 60 yards for a touchdown.
USC and Miami have long been thought as the leaders for Herring’s services. Herring was in the audience for yesterday’s USC/Oregon State match-up at the Coliseum while Miami was looking forward to Herring’s visit on the weekend of December 12th, but he will be busy that weekend playing football.
“I planned to take my trip to Miami but I will have to cancel,” Herring said. “My championship game is on Saturday. I have changed my visit to Miami for January 23.”
The red hot LSU Tigers will get Herring’s last visit but a date hasn’t been set yet.
“I was going to visit either USC or UCLA for my last visit,” Herring said. “But I talked it over with my Mom and I will trip LSU for my last visit.”
Herring has racked up 45 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 12 ½ sacks, four fumbles caused and three interceptions with one game to go in 2003.
Herring has agreed to join Rivals.com December 15th 7:00 PM PST in the Rivals100 chat room.
