Harrell continues to like Raiders

Ennis, Texas quarterback Graham Harrell continues to like what one Big 12 school has to offer him.

“I like Texas Tech obviously,” the 6-foot-2, 183-pound Harrell said. “They have offered and they called the other day. I got to talk to Coach (Mike) Leach. We talked for quite a while about things and had a good visit. The offense they run. The way they throw the ball around and all that. That is very appealing to a quarterback.”
Oklahoma State made a visit to Ennis High School today.
“Oklahoma State had a coach at the school today,” he said. “They are fairly close to home. I like them too. They are going in the right direction as a program.”
Two schools a little further away continue to stay in touch with Harrell.
“Georgia and North Carolina State have expressed quite a bit of interest too. I’m interested in learning some more about them. Hopefully I can get by the schools in the summer and see things.”
There had been growing speculation an offer had recently come from Texas.
“No. I have not gotten an offer from Texas yet. They called the other day and visited with me. But I have not received a scholarship from them. They seemed real interested in me when we talked. They want me to come to their football camp the first part of June.”
Harrell isn’t locked into making an early decision.
“I’m hoping to make some trips to schools early this summer. Some of them are for camps and some are for seeing the school. If one of them is the right fit for me, then I’m not afraid to make an early commitment. If I get back from the visits and things are still close and I’m not certain, then I’ll probably wait and take official visits this fall and then make a decision.”
