*****

Stanford QB Davis Mills

Mills went across country to California from Georgia to pursue his college career and it’s been very up and down. He had 11 TDs last season and was set to break out this year but it hasn’t happened.

Grade: C

*****

Northwestern QB Hunter Johnson

This has not been pretty. Trevor Lawrence sent Johnson packing and he’s been awful at Northwestern. He’s not a factor at all with the Wildcats.

Grade: F

*****

Texas A&M QB Kellen Mond

Mond has been a starter from the beginning of his career and is setting records with the Aggies. He’s not the Heisman contender I thought he could be but he’s been good.

Grade: B+

*****

Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence

Not much needs to be said here as Lawrence has already won a national title, played for another and is a future NFL star. We saw this coming.

Grade: A+

*****

Ohio State QB Justin Fields

Despite his rough game against Indiana, Fields has been elite at his time at Ohio State and his battle with Lawrence for No. 1 in 2018 was not a fluke.

Grade: A

*****

Georgia QB JT Daniels

My how things come full circle or at least semi-circle sometimes. Daniels was the third five-star in the national top-five in 2018 and now he’s begun his era at Georgia. And it’s off to a good start.

Grade: B

*****

Oklahoma QB Spencer Rattler

It’s Rattler’s time to shine after a run of transfer quarterbacks starting at Oklahoma. He had a slower start than expected but he’s doing very well now. It’s still too early in his career for a full grade but so far so good.

Grade: B+

*****

Auburn QB Bo Nix

Nix has been a starter since his freshman year and has had his ups and downs but he’s leading a top-25 program and is deadly at home.

Grade: B

*****

Alabama QB Bryce Young

Young has played sparingly as Mac Jones has been amazing. It’s too early for a true grade.

Grade: Incomplete

*****

Clemson QB D.J. Uiagalelei

Uiagalelei was pressed into service quickly with Lawrence out with COVID-19 and he’s been as impressive as expected. It’s a small sample size but a good one.

Grade: A

Tennessee QB Harrison Bailey

Bailey has only thrown 23 passes so far so like Young he gets an incomplete.

Grade: Incomplete.
