Georgia DB Joey Hunter isn't committed to Mississippi State - yet

Joey Hunter saw his recruitment take off a couple of months ago and he has announced his commitment to the Mississippi State Bulldogs Thursday morning via Twitter.

A couple of hours after his announcement, Hunter backed off that statement a little.

"My commitment won't be official until June," said Hunter. "They want to see me in the spring, then they want me to take my official visit before I commit.

"I talked to the defensive coordinator and the head coach about it and they just said it won't be official until June."

The 2020 cornerback out of Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek has good length, he is physical and he still has a lot of room to grow as a player.

Hunter almost committed over the weekend, right after a visit to Colorado, but held off a few days, thought things over a little longer, but felt Thursday morning that he was ready.

Will this pause change things? He is not sure if he will visit other schools or not, but at this time, Hunter is a strong Mississippi State lean.
