Gaymon working on getting better
Detroit Renaissance three-star receiver Sam Gaymon put on a show earlier this spring at the State College NIKE Training Camp.

While he was already a well known name to local coaches that scout Detroit, the job he did in front of hundreds of coaches at the NIKE Camp really helped his stock out and now he's added even more offers to his list.
"I have offers from Cincinnati, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Bowling Green, Howard and Marshall says they're on the verge of offering me," Gaymon said. "I also sent to the Michigan State and Michigan camps. I think I did pretty good at both places, but Michigan State seemed more interested.
"There wasn't a defensive back that could cover me up there. They were all trying to play bump and run, and I was easily able to use my physical strength to get by those guys. We also went to a team passing league at Michigan State. We did pretty well. I haven't talked to Michigan State about if they're interested, but I know they've been in contact with my coaches."
Gaymon said he's not in any rush at all to make a decision. He's happy with the offers he has now, but he also hopes more Big Ten schools like Michigan State, Purdue, Wisconsin, Iowa and others like West Virginia come after him after a strong start in his senior season.
"I'm working hard at getting better," he said.
"One of the main things that I'm hearing from the coaches is that I need to improve my straight line speed. I'm working hard on my speed and my explosiveness. We do short explosions and run repetitive sprints of 100s. Then we do 50s and in and outs. I've definitely noticed that I'm getting stronger and faster.
"People are definitely going to see a new and improved version of me when I'm out there."
Gaymon said practices officially start on August 1. Renaissance opens the season up against UofD.
