Gaymon helps team to title
Detroit Renaissance three-star receiver Sam Gaymon is one of the best receivers in the Midwest, and the 6-foot-2, 183-pounder has done his part in helping his team win big games.

This past week against Henry Ford, Gaymon didn't have a lot of big grabs, but his presence caused a double-team the entire game, leaving his teammates open.
And the open receivers helped Renaissance grab a 7-6 victory and a Division II city championship.
"It was a great game," Gaymon said. "I had a couple of catches and I blocked really hard. But they had a man up over me and a safety rolled to my side the entire game. That left the other receiver open, and we took advantage of it. I ran hard routes. I blocked hard and it was a great victory.
"I have done pretty well this season. I have about four touchdown catches, and I'm getting a lot of looks in the red zone. I'm making a lot of big plays and helping the team shoot now for the state playoffs."
Gaymon has scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Akron, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern, Michigan, Western Michigan, Toledo and others.
He said the most consistent teams calling lately have been Cincinnati, Central Michigan, Purdue, Northwestern and Toledo.
"I think Purdue and Northwestern are very interested," Gaymon said.
"The Purdue coaches want to see a few more games from me. And the Northwestern coaches are checking on my grades. I'd be real excited to get Big Ten offers like that, but I'm also not too worried about recruiting right now. I'm more focused on helping our team get ready for the last few games and the state playoffs."
