Come Friday, one lucky school will have five-star receiver Hykeem Williams committed to their program. Williams’ commitment carries extra weight as he is the only uncommitted five-star wide out left on the market. The top contenders in August included Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Pitt, and Texas A&M. Which school will it be? We rank the contenders with a prediction.

After Williams’ Stranahan squad took the field on Sept. 1 against Plantation, the 2023 Florida prospect shared the list was down to three without disclosing which schools.

THE RANKING AND PREDICTION

3. Texas A&M: The Aggies looked like the favorite back in the spring and early summer months with visits in April and June. Williams took another unofficial visit on Sept. 17 leaving the door open for the Aggies to close him. The draw to play in the SEC and in head coach Jimbo Fisher’s offense was a beacon.

Williams on Texas A&M: “College Station might be the best college atmosphere I’ve seen. I love College Station. We have a good bond. I talk to them a lot. We don’t even talk about football; we just catch up.”

2. Pitt: With all due respect to the job head coach Pat Narduzzi has done at Pitt, Williams seriously looking at the Panthers as an option is about his relationship with receivers coach Tiquan Underwood. The former NFL receiver connected with Williams while he was at Rutgers (2020-21) getting the Fort Lauderdale area talent to visit the Scarlet Knights multiple times. When Underwood made the move to Pitt, Williams’ loyalties followed.

Williams on Pitt: “I was talking to them before coach Underwood got there, then when he got there, it changed.”

1. Florida State: Since the Seminoles offered Williams back in January of 2021, they have been a factor in his recruitment. Last year, Williams made multiple visits to Tallahassee including a game-day visit for the season opener against Notre Dame and kept that relationship going with a trip north this spring.

A noticeable change took place when FSU scored a visit the last weekend in July and when Williams made the trip to New Orleans to see the Seminoles defeat LSU 24-23. The last scheduled official for Williams is FSU on Nov. 25.

Williams on Florida State: “I talk to coach (Ron) Dugans (WR), coach (Mike) Norvell, and coach Guy (Lemonier – GA),” Williams stated. “I have been talking to them the most. I talk to coach (Alex) Atkins (OC) a lot too.”

Williams is holding his commitment announcement at Stranahan High School with the event starting at 1:00 p.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 23.
