Frye has a leader and top three

Fayetteville (N.C.) Jack Britt safety Alex Frye holds five offers from Duke, Wake Forest, East Carolina, Virginia and Maryland. The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder with 4.55-second speed has a top three according to Jack Britt head coach Richard Bailey.
"Maryland and Virginia are definitely his favorites right now and then Wake Forest is also in his top three. I definitely think they will all get official visits from him," he said. "He likes Wake because one of our former players Brandon Ghee goes there. He likes Virginia because it's close to his relatives and I'd say Maryland is probably his favorite right now. He really likes the school, but just doesn't have an official offer from them. The coaches have told me if they take a safety they'll take Alex, but they have other needs to fill first."

Over the past month, the three-star prospect took unofficial visits to Virginia and Wake Forest.
"He didn't say too much about them, but I know he really enjoyed both visits a lot and had a good time."
Meanwhile, Frye continues to receive plenty of interest from Notre Dame.
"He's getting a lot of personal letters and there is a legitimate interest from them, it's not just token mail," Bailey said. "He may actually take an official up there. We still have to send out some highlight film though."
The No. 42 safety in the country has been named to the Shrine Bowl this season.
"He's been playing very well especially in the last couple games," he said. "Last game Alex had 100 yards receiving and a touchdown. Of course, he's doing really well at defensive back too. I don't see anything changing in his recruiting until the season is over when he'll take his visits and decide."
