BRADENTON, Fla. – Cam Coleman can bide his time. In fact, he plans to. The class-of-2019 wide receiver holds a number of major offers, but he’s not about to make a rash decision or leap into a quick commitment. In fact, he avoids naming favorites as if doing so would kill him.
“I’m looking at everyone right now. I’m not naming favorites or singling anyone out,” Coleman said.
Still, that’s not to say he won’t talk publicly about visits he plans to take in the year ahead.
Coleman, who attends Florida’s IMG Academy but is originally from St. Louis, wants to visit Nebraska and Florida. Those two trips are at the forefront and Coleman says he thinks the tours will be simple logistically because of the schools’ respective locations.
The other trips on the docket, however, have required more preparation.
“My dad just put in vacation so we can get to the West Coast, Coleman said. “We want to get to some West Coast schools.”
IN HIS WORDS: “A school that I don’t have an offer from that I want to visit and hopefully get an offer is Florida State,” Coleman said. “We’ll see about that one.”
RIVALS REACTION: It’s much too early to venture any guesses about Coleman’s possible landing place. Singing Day 2019 seems like light years away at this juncture. It’s probably safe to say that Florida, Nebraska, Missouri and Florida State (should an FSU offer arrive) will be players here. That list will grow in the coming year, of course, but those four programs seem to be in solid early position.
