Four-star offensive lineman Jovaughn Gwyn was one of the key pieces to Charlotte (N.C.) Harding University's state championship win on Saturday night. Now that his season is over, Gwyn is planning on buckling down to finish out his recruitment.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

"I'm going to take some time out and then I'm going to get this college stuff squared away," Gwyn said. "I'll celebrate the state championship game and they get to work.

"I'm not sure when I'll sign," he said. "I need to sit down and talk with my parents and if I'm ready then I'll do it during the early signing period.

"I talked to Duke, N.C. State, and South Carolina the most," said Gwyn. "I went to my N.C. State official visit last Saturday. It went really good. The connection with the players was really good and stands out. I'm not sure where they sit on my list right now.

"I have to take my official visit to Duke," he said. "I just found out about their offensive line coach leaving. I have to think about what that does for them.

"I'm supposed to take my official visit down to South Carolina this Saturday after the Shrine Bowl," Gwyn said. "The new offensive coordinator doesn't change my thoughts on them. They had to do what they had to do. Things will probably be better for them after this. They're saying the offensive line coach is staying. I'm expecting to get down there and talk more personally with the coaches."

RIVALS' REACTION…

Gwyn isn't giving much away but it's hard to think Duke losing their offensive line coach is a good thing. N.C. State has felt like the leader for much of Gwyn's recruitment but South Carolina has be turning up the pressure over the last few months. It will be good to hear his reaction after his official visit next weekend.
