BELLFLOWER, Calif. – Jaiden Woodbey wants to take two visits this fall but that’s good news for Ohio State fans since both will be to Columbus.

The four-star defensive back is expected to take his official visit to Ohio State for the Oklahoma matchup and that’s a big one for Woodbey since there was talk the Sooners were trying to get involved with him as well.

“I’m excited especially since all the Oklahoma rumors were rising about me going there,” Woodbey said. “All that got settled down. Hopefully it will be a good game.”

The Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco standout will return to Columbus for the Penn State matchup later in the fall.

Other than those trips, Woodbey said he’s not planning to visit any other schools. He still only talks to the Ohio State coaches regularly.

“It’s like every week,” Woodbey said. “I’m just focused more on my football team right now. We have a lot of stuff to get through.

“I’m just making sure I’m doing what the coaches say. I’m practicing as if I’m at Ohio State.”

There were plenty of considerations for Woodbey to take a bunch of official visits. He was thinking about Oklahoma, possibly Nebraska and some other trips but he has decided not to take any others but Ohio State.

That’s huge for his Buckeyes pledge.

“It goes both ways,” Woodbey said.

“Sometimes you think you should take other visits. You think if you want to go then you think you shouldn’t take other visits but then it’s like how do you know if you don’t want to go to those other schools? Either decision is a good decision because it’s going to be mine.”

Woodbey might be done with his recruitment but the four-star said a local powerhouse is not backing off. He said he’s not influenced by the pressure put on by USC but the Trojans are definitely not giving up easily.

“SC is still aggressive,” Woodbey said. “They never stop.”
