Ford turning heads

Pineville (La.) 2015 offensive tackle Cody Ford stands in at 6-foot-4 and 310-pounds and in his second season as a varsity starter has begun to turn the heads of college coaches.
He has started at left tackle for Pineville the last two seasons, and has caught attention because of his size, footwork, and flexibility. He also prides himself on playing with a bit of an edge in the trenches.

"I like to get nasty," Ford said.
Coaches from Arkansas, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Notre Dame, Florida State, LSU, and Mississippi State have expressed an interest in the standout offensive lineman, and he recently returned from a trip to see Arkansas take on Mississippi State in Little Rock, Arkansas. There were a few aspects of the trip which caught his attention.
"Just the fanbase, they had a good crowd, and I liked the coaching staff," Ford said.
Before the trip the Razorbacks seemed to be talking pretty seriously and there is thought he could receive some good news from Arkansas soon.
"Before, the o-line coach was talking about a scholarship," Ford said. "The head coach has to watch my film first and they're going to get back at me."
Ford has also taken trips to Louisiana Tech, McNeese State, and Louisiana-Lafayette, and this weekend he plans to take a couple of visits. Friday is a trip to Baton Rouge to see LSU take on Arkansas, and then Saturday he plans to stop by Louisiana-Lafayette.
It is still early in the recruiting process, and he is keeping an open mind but there are a few programs who have caught his attention at this point.
"Right now it's just Arkansas, Louisiana Tech, and maybe ULL," Ford said.
Ford is now looking forward to getting stronger in the offseason, something he has not done in the past because of baseball. He was a pitcher who was known for a nasty curveball, but following his junior season he is focused on football.
