Ford grabs first two offers

MORE: Shaw inks agreement with Louisville
A few weeks ago it appeared as if Pineville (La.) 2015 offensive tackle Cody Ford was on the verge of his first scholarship offers. That vision came to fruition last week when he picked up not one, but two offers.

Offer No. 1 came from the Big 12 by way of the TCU Horned Frogs and assistant coach Rusty Burns.
"I was surprised and it was my first one, so I didn't know how to react," Ford said. "I was just surprised and shocked."
It took awhile, but it did begin to set in that he had received his first offer.
"I was like I have to do all my school work and do everything I have to do to get admitted and make sure I keep doing good on the field," Ford said.
The standout offensive lineman has not had a chance to take a visit to TCU, but he has checked out the program.
"I looked at it online," Ford said. "It's a very nice campus. It was nice. It's going to be a hard decision my senior year."
While receiving the TCU offer was nice, the Horned Frogs were quickly joined a day later by the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.
"I just had the TCU the day before and I was like I don't know because Tech…I was thinking about trying to stay close to home," Ford said.
While the TCU offer took him by surprise, he was tipped off by the Bulldogs that an offer would most likely be headed his way in the near future. Now with two offers under his belt, he is still trying to wrap his mind around everything and wants to make sure he does two very important things.
"Kind of, but because it just happened recently… I don't want to get big headed and like 'Oh yeah, I've got two Division I offers.' I want to stay humble and hungry," Ford said.
Ford who has taken unofficial visits to Arkansas, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, and LSU would like to visit also add TCU to his growing list of visits and he also plans to "definitely" take another trip to Louisiana Tech.
