Flowers picks up Big 12 offer

Converse (Texas) Judson safety Tre Flowers was one of the top performers at last year's Houston Under Armour Combine but, since then, it had been seemingly quiet on the recruiting front for the 6-foot-2, 175-pound defender. That is, until this past weekend.
Flowers made a trip to a Big 12 school for a junior day ad ended up picking up an offer.

"I had an offer from UTSA and then I picked up an offer on Saturday from Kansas State," Flowers said on Monday evening. "I was up there for a junior day. Coach (Bill) Snyder told me the news and then my recruiting coach from my area let me know officially.
"I loved the visit. It was a great experience and they have a great fanbase. Everybody seemed like family and it was good to see how they run everything."
Flowers is hearing from several other programs as well, including another Big 12 school where he made a stop this past weekend too.
"I went to Baylor on Sunday," he said. "I stopped by there for a junior day on my way back from Kansas State. I talked to TCU today and he said he's going to talk to the head coach. He said they're pretty close to offering me.
"I'm going to go to TCU's junior day and then also Tulsa's junior day. That's sometime in April."
Flowers says all schools are recruiting him as a safety except for Houston, which has also mentioned the possibility of playing cornerback. As for early favorites, he is keeping his eye on a couple of schools.
"Kansas State is, of course, because they offered me on Saturday," he said of programs standing out to him. "With them offering me that gives them the edge right now. It's still early though. I'm hoping Baylor offers me. I really like their campus."
