The Latest: Class of 2018 three-star quarterback Jordan McCloud brings a versatile skill set to the position and his highlight film features so many exciting plays that some schools want him to play another position. But McCloud, the younger brother of former 5-star and Clemson wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud III, sees himself as a quarterback all the way and has no plans of moving positions, even if it limits his recruiting options. So which schools are serious about playing him at his natural position? Rivals.com caught up with McCloud at the recent Orlando stop of the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp Series presented by adidas to talk recruiting.

In His Words: “The Schools talking to me the most are USF, UCF, Oregon and Toledo.”

Oregon: “They just offered me last week. They told me they see me as an athlete, I could be a quarterback or I could play something else. I feel like I could be a good quarterback at that school. That coaching staff, I’ve known them for a long time so it’s kind of like I have a family up there. “But it is different than having your real family and it is 3,000 miles away. That’s something you have to think about, but having the bond with the coaches makes it easier.”

USF: “The new staff is cool. They’ve already been to my school and they told my coach they are really interested. Coach King was there before and he stayed and I’ve been talking to him almost every day for a long time. He’s a great guy. It would be great to play in my hometown. Nothing like home. I think their offense is going to be a great fit for me. The Texas staff came and they are going to run something similar.”

Rivals Reaction: McCloud’s older brother nearly spurned Clemson to stay home at USF with the Bulls and now it appears as a real option for him going forward. The Ducks are a unique wildcard and if McCloud visits this summer, it could be a sign things are looking up for him to head out west. In the meantime, USF is the school to watch.
