Five-star athlete Thomas Herring (6-6, 292, 4.8) from Los Angeles (Calif.) Fremont helped lead the Pathfinders to the Los Angeles Invitational City Championship with a victory over Los Angeles (Calif.) Locke 31-14 last Friday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Because Herring was participating in that game Herring canceled his visit to Miami that was scheduled to begin on December 12th.
Not to fear Canes fans, Herring will be visiting Coral Gables in January.
“I planned to take my trip to Miami but I will have to cancel,” Herring said. “My championship game was played last Friday (Dec. 12). I have changed my visit to Miami for January 23.”
“USC and Miami have always been my childhood favorites,” Herring said. “But I won’t let that enter into my mind.”
“I want to take all of my visits before I make up my mind,” Herring said.
After the championship game someone sitting near Herring thought he overheard a fan ask if he was going to USC and he thought he heard Herring say, “Yes sir.”
“No I didn’t say yes sir that I was going to USC,” Herring said. “I said yes sir to person because he said USC would be a good place to play.”
The red hot LSU Tigers will get Herring’s visit on January 16th so that means neither co-leader USC or the other local school UCLA will not get a visit.
“I was going to visit either USC or UCLA for my last visit,” Herring said. “But I talked it over with my Mom and I will trip LSU for my last visit.”
Herring will participate in the Cal/Florida All-Star game and will be wearing number 94.
The reason he is wearing number 94 is because of USC defensive end Kenechi Udeze also known as BKU of Big Kenechi Udeze.
Herring was asked if he would mind having the nickname BTH, he laughed and said that he would be honored.
Herring has racked up 50 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 16 ½ sacks, four fumbles caused and three interceptions in 2003.
On one of his interceptions, Herring took the ball housebound 60 yards for a touchdown.
The top five schools for Herring’s services are USC, Miami, Oklahoma Michigan and LSU.
Herring is scheduled to visit OU (Dec. 19) this weekend.
