Five-star looking at Oregon visit

John Houston has not booked his official visit to Oregon yet but that could happen soon and the five-star linebacker is excited to see what the Ducks have to offer.
The Gardena (Calif.) Serra standout said it looks pretty good that he'll visit for the Oregon-Washington game with fellow five-star teammate Rasheem Green. All it will take now is scheduling the trip and locking in his visit plans.

"I'm trying to see if I can schedule Oregon for our bye week when they play Washington," Houston said.
"I'm looking forward to it so I can see the coaching staff and talk to all of them in-depth. I want to see the facilities they have and why everybody keeps talking about them. I want to see what all the hype is about."
Houston, rated as the No. 2 outside linebacker and the No. 25 prospect in the 2015 class by Rivals.com, is working on at least one other official visit.
The Serra recruit had planned to visit Florida State but Houston said the Seminoles haven't talked to him much recently so he's not sure about that trip. Going to Oklahoma at some point is also the plan but Houston said getting out on visits is often difficult.
"Every visit I take is exciting and I'm trying to figure it out," Houston said. "Trying to be a student-athlete is hard. I give it up to Adoree' (Jackson), Boodah (Tucker), everybody that did it because it's not easy. I see why people commit but like I said from the beginning I'm not going to rush into anything I don't want to rush into.
"I don't know about Florida State. I haven't heard from them for a long time. I'm working with Oklahoma and trying to figure out a date for them."
Other official visits would probably be planned for later. Houston said he'll take unofficial trips to USC and UCLA during the season but is mostly just focused on playing games and going to school. The Trojans are definitely making an aggressive move to land his pledge.
"They're coming at me hard," Houston said. "They're sending mail. Usually mail as a senior goes down but mine just keeps going up with them. They're showing interest, hitting me up on Twitter and everything like that."
