Five-star LB names seven

Mesquite (Texas) Poteet five-star linebacker Malik Jefferson has seen scholarship offers arrive from near and far since his sophomore year of high school.

He has enjoyed the rare opportunities which come with being one of the nation's most highly coveted recruits. He has been a part of some of the best game day experiences in the college game, he has met and picked the brains of some of the top football minds in the game, and he has been able to push himself against the best in his class.

He has remained humble throughout the entire process and he has taken his time to careful select his options.

There has been no shortage of speculation about where Jefferson will play his college football, but the standout linebacker has kept most of his thoughts beyond closed doors.

On Monday he announced his top seven via Twitter.

Jefferson has already taken official visits to LSU and Texas A&M. He has not scheduled his final three official visits.

He plans to announce his decision on Friday, December 19, 2014.
