The class of 2018’s No. 1 offensive tackle prospect, Fairfield, Ohio five-star Jackson Carman, has been active visiting schools this off-season and that has allowed him to identify five schools that have his attention most heading into his senior season.
THE LATEST
Clemson, Florida State, Ohio State, USC and Wisconsin are the top five schools for Carman heading into his senior season. Carman has yet to visit Florida State or Wisconsin during the recruiting process, but he made a spring visit to Clemson, he spent four days at USC in June and, most recently, attended Ohio State’s Friday Night Lights Camp on July 21.
QUOTABLE
“He certainly has a top five in his mind right now. He is not ready to say that’s his final five, but he’s got five that are ahead of the pack. At the end of the summer he is going to narrow it down to five for sure and let everyone know before recruiting starts in September.” –Fairfield head coach Jason Krause
RIVALS’ REACTION
Carman will be a mid-year graduate and will sign in the December signing period. Official visits are already being discussed and planned. Discussions have already been had about taking the USC official visit in December. Sept. 29 will also likely be an official visit weekend because Fairfield plays on Thursday night that week. Wisconsin has a home game that weekend, while Clemson and Florida State are on the road. The thought right now is that Ohio State will likely not be an official visit destination because Carman has been there more than a dozen times. Another school may be substituted in for that fifth official visit spot, but which school that potentially could be is undetermined.
