Alabama has hosted many highly rated recruits this offseason but five-star Micah Parsons is one of the most talented to make the trip to Tuscaloosa this year. The Harrisburg, Pa. defensive end had plenty of good things to say about his time with the Crimson Tide.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

"I had a good time down there," Parsons said. "I got to see the campus, talk to coach Saban, sit with the coaching staff, and build a relationship with the players. The coaches were telling me about how I fit their program, different ways they will use me and my versatility with my speed off the edge and my technique. They showed me a lot of how they used Ryan Anderson and Tim Williams. They said I am a lot like Tim Williams.

"Vandarius (Cowan), Dylan Moses, and Najee Harris were really recruiting me," he said. "We watched the players work out and they told me if I like working hard and getting better then Alabama is the place to go. If you want to play with the best, that’s where you want to go.

"I’ll probably be in Columbus for Friday Night Lights," said Parsons. "I’ve been to Ohio State a bunch of times so I’m just looking forward to hanging with coach Johnson, working out with him, and see the other coaches.

"I’m trying to visit Georgia and Florida State all on July 29th,” he said. "I don’t know if that’s going to work out yet.

"After I finish my summer visits then I’ll trim my list down to a final five or six and those will be my official visits," Parsons said. "Those Georgia and Florida State visits will probably be list last summer visits."

RIVALS' REACTION

Parsons clearly enjoyed his time at Alabama and the effort by the players there definitely made an impact. Alabama seems like they will be a contender for Parsons all the way up to his commitment but there is stiff competition from Ohio State. The Buckeyes are the favorite to land Parsons but Georgia, Florida State, and a few other programs could have a say before all is said and done. Expect Parsons to take all of his official visits.
