Fields knows the process well

With the recruiting process starting up, Dallas South Oak Cliff receiver Demetrius Fields has a pretty good idea about what's ahead.
That's because Fields' brother, Dexton Fields, went through the process several years ago in the class of 2004 before signing with Kansas. The younger Fields is taking things slow and taking his brother's advice.
Though the brothers have talked about playing together, Demetrius says that his brother just wants him to make the best decision possible.
"He's not necessarily pushing me to go to Kansas with him," Fields said. "He just wants me to make the best decision and choose where I want to go and what's best for me."
Kansas is one school showing early interest but Colorado, Tulsa, Kentucky, and others are also in the mix. Fields says that he doesn't have a favorite yet, but he would like to be somewhat close to home.
"Yeah, somewhere around here would be good," Fields said. "I don't want to go too far, but I don't want to be real close either."
Fields also participated in the NIKE Training Camp this past weekend at Texas Christian University. After having a strong showing with the receivers, he says he felt good about his performance.
"It wasn't easy out there, but it went well," he said about the camp. "I felt real good throughout the entire day. I made a good showing out there."
