Farrell Midseason 50: Nos. 26-30

FARRELL 50: Nos. 31-35 | 36-40 | 41-45 |46-50

The skinny: Booker was a three-star JUCO recruit in the Class of 2013. He committed to Utah after an official visit to Salt Lake City in late November, 2012. Booker also had offers from West Virginia, Houston, Hawaii, Utah State and San Diego State. Booker has become the top offensive weapon for the undefeated Utes, with 783 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground, plus 23 receptions for 208 yards through the air.
Farrell's take: Despite pretty good size, we had Booker as an all-purpose back out of JUCO because he can do things in the passing game, but he has proven to be a workhorse on the ground in college. He had a great season last year and is grooving this year as well. Productive, strong, low to the ground with some sneaky speed, this is a guy who has raised his game quite a bit since junior college.

LB
Kentrell Brothers, Missouri
Guthrie, Okla., 2011, three-star
The skinny: Brothers was a three-star, the No. 36 outside linebacker and the No. 8 recruit from Oklahoma in the Class of 2011. Brothers committed to Missouri over Arizona State, Washington, Vanderbilt and Tulsa in early November after taking official visits to check out the Tigers, Huskies and Sun Devils. He is the NCAA leader in tackles with 91 tackles, plus 5.5 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks and two interceptions.
Farrell's take: Brothers is a tackling machine for Missouri with great instincts and a knack for being in the right place at the right time. He's not the biggest, he's not the fastest but he is one of the smartest. Out of high school, his lack of length concerned us, and we questioned his quick-twitch ability, but his high three-star rating was because he could tackle and get after the quarterback on the blitz.

CB
Cameron Sutton, Tennessee
Jonesboro, Ga., 2013, three-star
The skinny: Sutton was a three-star, but not ranked nationally, at his position or in Georgia in 2013. After favoring Tennessee for several months, Sutton committed to the Vols in late August after taking a return visit to campus with his family. Despite taking an official visit to Ole Miss in January and receiving a late push from Auburn, Sutton signed with the Vols. In Knoxville, he continues to establish himself as one of the top cover corners in the country this season with 18 tackles, two tackles for a loss and two forced fumbles.
Farrell's take: A lockdown cover cornerback in the SEC is a big deal and Sutton doesn't have huge numbers, but he's not tested as often as others. He went from a high school prospect who wasn't a sure tackler at times and had stiff hips to a potential first- or second-rounder and rising on the charts of scouts.

CB
Jalen Ramsey, Florida State
Nashville (Tenn.) Brentwood Academy, 2013, five-star

The skinny: No. 10 overall, the No. 3 cornerback and the No. 1 recruit from Tennessee in 2013, Ramsey originally committed to USC in July of 2012. Keeping his recruiting process relatively open, he took official visits to Florida, Florida State, Washington and Mississippi State. Despite never de-committing from USC, Ramsey finally did flip to Florida State on National Signing Day. Leading a talented Florida State secondary this fall, Ramsey has 22 tackles, seven pass break-ups and a fumble recovery.
Farrell's take: FSU fans will want Ramsey higher and he is a leader on a very good defense loaded with youth, but he's also been exposed a couple of times this year in solo coverage, which is concerning. His combination of size, athleticism and suddenness shows out more often than not and he's around the ball quite a bit. That's what we saw in high school -- a big, shutdown cornerback who can also play safety with his field sense.
