Farley lands at Pac-10 school
Almost three months after National Signing Day, Brian Farley has finally found his next home and it's in the Pac-10.
The 6-foot-8, 289-pound offensive tackle from San Diego (Calif.) Patrick Henry has decided to become a preferred walk-on at Cal, his father said in an e-mail, after taking a visit there last weekend.

"We visited there this past Saturday for a spring football scrimmage and Brian and their new offensive line coach, Jim Michalczik, really hit it off," Randal Farley wrote. "He said over and over that he'd really like to have Brian there at Cal and it will be a great fit for Brian."
Farley, a three-star prospect by Rivals.com in the 2011 class, listed offers from Maryland and New Mexico State and was also seriously considering playing football and lacrosse at Salisbury University, a Division III school in Maryland that is one of the top programs in both sports at that level.
The weekend visit to Berkeley sold Farley on the Golden Bears and his father said the family is excited about how things turned out.
"In the end, it was both the personal connection he made with coach Michalczik and the quality of the program that coach (Jeff) Tedford has built there in Berkeley," Farley wrote. "The education there was also a big factor in his decision."
Farley was one of the better-looking linemen at the Los Angeles NIKE Camp two springs ago. He has roots in Maryland, too, because his father is a Naval Academy graduate and his brother played lacrosse for the Terrapins so looking at schools in that state made sense throughout the recruiting process.
