MARQUIS HAYES, OG, Maryland Heights (Md.) Pattonville

Recruiting wrap: Marquis Hayes holds Power Five offers from Missouri, Illinois, Iowa State and Minnesota.

Performance: Hayes was the day’s biggest surprise. He arrived in Kansas City with just a handful of offers and limited buzz before dominating one-on-one drills and taking home the day’s offensive line MVP award. He also earned an invitation to this year’s Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour. Hayes arrived rated as a three-star but outperformed that ranking at the camp. He won nearly every rep he took and did so in dominant fashion on most occasions. A guard prospect, Hayes has incredible lower body strength and has been well-coached when it comes to arm extension.

DARON DAVIS, ATH, Kansas City (Mo.) Hogan Prep

Recruiting wrap: DaRon Davis is committed to Missouri.

Performance: Davis is a physically impressive prospect that is not short on strength or muscle. Physically, he looks like a college football player, but he used Sunday’s camp to prove he can back up his look. The Missouri commit won receiver MVP honors by gaining consistent separation and flashing great hands on down field. Davis took as many reps as any player at the event and won nearly all of them.

JAFAR ARMSTRONG, WR, Shawnee Misson (Kans) Bishop Miege

Recruiting wrap: Jafar Armstrong holds offers from Wyoming, New Mexico, Illinois and Northern Illinois.

Performance: Armstrong was one of three players in the running for wide receiver MVP honors until the final minutes of the camp. He has solid length and a strong frame that serves him well when a cornerback attempts to jam him at the line. Armstrong created separation all afternoon and shined brightly in one-on-one work. He showed strong hands and the ability to run crisp routes.

TAYLOR POWELL, PQB, Fayetteville, Ark.

Recruiting wrap: Taylor Powell holds offers from Illinois, Maryland, Memphis, Arkansas State and others.

Performance: Powell has a handful of offers for good reason. Powell won the day’s quarterback MVP award because of his well-rounded skill set. Powell showed impressive arm strength that drew serious attention and was consistent when it came to hitting targets on intermediate routes. Powell has a handful of offers but probably should have a few more.

DRAYTON LAW, WR, Mobile (Ala.) Baker

Recruiting wrap: Drayton Law holds offers from Southern Miss and Grambling

Performance: Law has nice size and arms that hand down to his knees. He knows how to use his length to his advantage. Law showed a knack for extending and snatching balls that looked to be thrown off line. Law runs sharp routes and is smooth out of his breaks. Law is an under-recruited prospect.

DEVON MOORE, PQB, Waterloo (Iowa) Waterloo West

Recruiting wrap: Devon Moore is committed to Iowa State

Performance: The left-handed Moore had one of the camp’s strongest arms. He looked impressive and drills and has a great quarterback build. His powerful arm and delivery impressed from the start of camp until the end, and made it easier to forgive the fact that he sometimes overthrew receivers on deep balls. The Cyclones are getting a quarterback with incredible physical tools.

JAYLOR BESTER, APB, Belleville (Ill.) Althoff

Recruiting wrap: Bester is awaiting his first scholarship offer.

Performance: Bester was one of the coaching staff’s favorite prospects. He grabbed attention during drills and carried that into one-on-one work. He lacks size but runs incredibly well. His quickness creates matchup problems in the flats. So while his limited weight makes him an incomplete prospect, he shined brightly in the pass-heavy camp. His work as a passing target resulted in running back MVP honors.

ANDREW CLAIR, APB, St. Louis (Mo.) University

Recruiting wrap: Andrew Clair holds offers from Iowa, Northern Illinois, Ball State and others.

Performance: A shifty all-purpose back with a solid build, Clair is no scatback. He boasts a solid frame to go along with a good burst, a sharp change of direction and soft hands. Clair’s versatility was obvious at the event.

CAMERON JURGENS, TE, Beatrice, Neb.

Recruiting wrap: Cameron Jurgens is committed to Nebraska

Performance: Some think Jurgens might be a better linebacker than he is a tight end, but he shined on offense on Sunday. A versatile prospect, Jurgens has a massive build with strong hands. He’s quick off the line of scrimmage and is explosive for his massive size.

C.J. COLDON, WR, Belleville (Ill.) Althoff

Recruiting wrap: C.J. Coldon holds offers from a number of non-Power Five programs.

Performance: Coldon scored points for explosiveness as he created separation within 10 yards on most occasions. He hauled in a number of deep balls, but it was his devastating change of pace that made him tough to cover. Coldon has good-enough size and his decently long arms combined with his quickness allow him to bail quarterbacks out on passes that slightly miss the mark.

BRANDON SMITH, WR, Lake Cormorant, Miss.

Recruiting wrap: Brandon Smith has offers from Southern Miss and a handful of others.

Performance: Smith was one of the most physically impressive prospects in attendance. He builds to top speed well and used his long strides to create separation on most reps. His hands failed him a number of times during the event, but he had no problem getting open against most defensive backs.

ALEX KLEINOW, OT, Iowa City (Iowa) West

Recruiting wrap: Alex Kleinow holds an offer from Iowa State.

Performance: Kleinow boasts an Ideal offensive tackle’s frame that he pairs with decently light feet. He impressed with his physical tools but is a bit raw from a technique standpoint. Kleinow encountered trouble when defensive ends crossed his face, but his upside remains high.

ERIC ROSS II, ATH, Lithonia (Ga.) Arabia Mountain

Recruiting wrap: Eric Ross is awaiting his first offer.

Performance: Ross lacks a little in length and may be a slot receiver at the next level, but he has athleticism to spare and was extremely explosive. He made a handful of acrobatic plays that made those watching forget that he’s not the biggest target.

COLIN GRUNHARD, C, Roeland Park (Kans.) Bishop Miege

Recruiting wrap: Colin Grunhard is the son of former Notre Dame center Tim Grunhard, who most recently coached at Kansas. He's awaiting his first FBS scholarship offer but has drawn interest from Missouri, Iowa State, Kansas State, N.C. State and others.

Performance: Grunhard worked one-on-one drills at center and looked great doing it. He’s a little shorter than ideal, sure, but the results were indisputable. Grunhard won a majority of the many reps he took and showed incredible lower body strength while doing so. Grunhard finishes blocks well and will improve as he acquires better balance.

TYLER BEACH, OT, Port Washington, Wisc.

Recruiting wrap: Tyler Beach is committed to Wisconsin

Performance: Beach is an imposing looking lineman with long arms that hang low and an incredibly thick build. What makes him sought after prospect, however, is the way he moves his massive frame. Beach impressed in drills, moving well laterally for a player of his size. He didn’t take many one-on-one reps and needs to work to improve his punch, but he has the frame and agility to be a special player.
