Demarcus Marshall could plow his way to more offers soon

The spring proving ground has been a tough landscape for defensive linemen trying their luck against three-star Grand Prairie guard Demarcus Marshall.

After a dominant performance in his latest outing, he’s slated to be back in action this weekend in Dallas for the Rivals Three Stripe Camp presented by Adidas. If his recent play is any indication for what will take place on Sunday, those that line up against him may want to have some Icy Hot on the ready.

The take no prisoners mentality has earned him seven offers - most of them coming this spring - and he’s already decided that three are tentatively on the books to receive official visits from him this fall.

On Colorado

“We haven’t really been communicating that much, but I think we’re still on a cool basis,” he said. “They can rely on me not to forget about them. Sometimes they come to the school and check up to see how I am doing in the weight room and on the field.”

“I like that (offensive) line,” he said. “I like how that offense works. It’s beautiful out there and I really like the atmosphere too.”

On Kansas State

“Their message to me has to been just to work hard and they’ll get me to where I want to be,” he said. “I want to get to the next level and go to the pros and they say their program will take me there.”

“(Offensive line coach Charlie Dickey) and I talk on almost a daily basis,” he said. “He’s always sending me information on the construction program and that’s what I’m trying to get into.”

On Texas Tech

“I felt good about getting that offer and it’s cool to have a college that would keep me close to home,” he said. “I think I would do pretty good there if I were to go there. I’ve gotten better at my pass-blocking but I like to get down and just drive people up the field.”

RIVALS REACTION

Marshall said the schools discussed are all in-line for three of those officials. Although it shouldn’t come as a surprise, he confirmed that the schools he will official to are the ones that make up his top-five. For now, it’s noteworthy that three of those schools are out there, but if Marshall continues to punish people this spring and offers continue to come in, his recruitment could become a more fluid situation.
