Frisco (Texas) 2017 offensive lineman Dawson Deaton has not received his first scholarship offer yet, but the attention continues to come from some of college football's heaviest hitters.

He has already taken a few unofficial visits and he has a big stop ahead of him this weekend as he prepares for a trip to TCU.
"I'm looking forward to talking to coach Anderson a little bit," Deaton said. "I haven't gotten the chance to meet him yet. I've only talked to coach Cumbie, my area recruiter, so far. And I really look forward to watching that offense. I know they put up tons of points and I think it will be a really fun game to watch."
He has already taken in some big games in 2015. One of his first stops was to Lawrence to watch the Kansas Jayhawks in action.
"Yes sir, it was one of my first visits," Deaton said. "It was a really cool time. The staff there is awesome. Coach Yenzer is my position coach. He came down and watched me for our game against the Colony the week after I visited up there. It was just awesome up there. The atmosphere is great. Coach Beaty is an awesome guy. I got to meet him. And also coach Mitchell my area recruiter. They just showed a lot of love. They like to put their hand down and run the ball, and I'm a big fan of that."
Next he was able to watch Oklahoma as the Sooners faced Tulsa.
"It was awesome," Deaton said. "The atmosphere there is great. It's just crazy. And coach Bedenbaugh is a really good coach and he's a really cool guy too. He came by last Thursday. He's just really cool. The offense is awesome. It's just really explosive and fun to watch. Especially with Baker Mayfield back there. He's fun to watch for sure."
His most recent visit took him to AT&T Stadium to watch Texas A&M and Arkansas go head-to-head in an SEC match-up.
"It's just amazing to me how Arkansas fans are everywhere," Deaton said. "It's down here in Dallas and I feel like there were more Arkansas fans there than there were A&M. And whenever I go around I always see an Arkansas fan. I think their fanbase is crazy and loud and it's just awesome how much of them there are. It was a great game."
The attention is beginning to roll in for the standout offensive lineman but two programs are currently showing more attention than the rest of the pack.
"I would probably say Kansas and Oklahoma State right now are recruiting me the hardest," Deaton said.
He has not visited Oklahoma State yet, but he plans to change that before the season is over.
"I haven't yet," Deaton said. "I'm planning on going to a game there in November. But I went to a camp they had here paired up with Mary Hardin-Baylor. I got to meet coach Adkins and coach Dunn and they're two really cool coaches. I feel like we have a pretty good relationship already after only meeting once and talking on the phone a couple of times."
Deaton is receiving most of his attention at Center and Guard, and he is familiar with the recruiting process after watching his brother Jaxson Deaton, who is now at Army, navigate the process as a 2015 prospect.
