"Recruiting is going well. I'm getting interest from Tennessee, Florida, Louisville, Notre Dame, Purdue, Connecticut, Rutgers, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Stanford, Northwestern, Cincinnati and Nebraska," he said. "I don't know if anyone is close to offering. They all send mail and stay in contact with my coach."
Does Alston have any leaders?
"I like Louisville, Florida, Tennessee and Notre Dame," he said. "Florida is the big one because of their defensive line. I like the tenacity and aggressiveness they show. As far as Louisville, I like their whole swagger and mentality. Meanwhile, Tennessee and Notre Dame have good tradition."
In general, the 2008 lineman went on to discuss what he's looking for out of a college.
"It doesn't matter where I play, I don't care about going far away," he said. "I just want cool coaches and teammates that I get along with. I am looking at either going to medical or business school, so that could be a factor in my decision too."
Alston recorded 76 tackles and 12.5 sacks on his way to all-area, all-league and all-county honors.
