Dawgs first to offer Kitt
When Georgia coach Mark Richt offered sophomore receiver Demarre Kitt a scholarship Saturday during the school's junior day, the player was more than a little surprised.
"I was kind of overwhelmed," Kitt said. "It means a lot to me."

A standout at Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek, the 6-feet-1, 185-pound Kitt recorded 42 catches for 651 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2011. He also returned a punt for a score. Kitt has been a starter since the ninth grade.
"I'm kind of a finesse receiver," Kitt said. "I can play with a DB and make moves in the open field. And I'm fast."
The offer from Georgia is Kitt's first.
"It's finally off my chest. Now I know they're going to come," Kitt said. "They started showing interest in me last year. They came to a spring practice, and then I went to a camp there in the summer. They invited me to junior day a month or two ago. They came by the school this week to see [Auburn receiver commit JaQuay Williams]. My coach told them about me and sent them my film. They said they just had to offer me. They loved my film. It was a big thing because I'm from Georgia."
Besides getting the offer, the rest of Kitt's visit to Athens also went well, he said.
"I got to meet all the coaches, and they liked me," Kitt said. "At the beginning we met the coaches. Then we went on a tour of campus. After we ate, that's when I talked to Coach Richt."
Other schools also are showing interest.
"I'm also hearing from Auburn," Kitt said. "They said they're going to check on my film. They're probably going to offer me. I also heard from Florida early on. And Alabama invited me to their junior day."
