Davis tops final Florida 100
Five-star defensive tackle Torrey Davis of Seffner Armwood tops the final Rivals.com Florida Top 100 for the Class of 2007.
One of the nation's top overall prospects, the 6-foot-5, 290-pound Davis is committed to Florida. The Gators also hold a verbal commitment from the state's second-ranked overall prospect, offensive guard James Wilson of Saint Augustine Nease.

Davis has everything you want in a defensive lineman. He's big, he's agile, he's quick off the ball. When his motor is running, he's nearly impossible to block one-on-one. Pass rushing is his strength and it won't be a surprise if he makes an impact in that category early in his career at UF.
Wilson is the most athletic lineman in the country and from a physical standpoint is college-ready. The Gators wrestled him away from Southern California, where he verbally committed in August, earlier this month.
North Fort Myers running back Noel Devine, Lynn Haven Mosley running back Enrique Davis and North Miami Beach cornerback prospect Doug Wiggins round out the top five.
Devine has been one of the most discussed prospects in the nation and perhaps has the best highlight reel of any prospect during the past decade. He is still open with regards to his college decision and new schools seemingly pop up on the list daily.
Davis is perhaps the most complete back in the Southeast this year. He's got good size, vision and speed. He's heading to Auburn, where he almost certainly will carry on that program's tradition of producing great backs.
Wiggins jumps into the top five after a standout senior year in which he led his team to the state semifinals from the quarterback position and also after a stellar performance in the Offense-Defense All-American bowl at cornerback. Wiggins shut down some of the nation's best receivers during that week of practice and also the game itself.
If the Class of 2006 Rivals.com Florida rankings were any indication, these five prospects could be seeing action early in their college careers.
Consider the following:
-Last year's top overall prospect in the Sunshine State, C.J. Spiller, was a freshman All-American at Clemson this season, rushing for 914 yards and 10 touchdowns while splitting time with sophomore James Davis.
-The state's second-ranked prospect from one year ago, offensive tackle Sam Young, was an opening-day starter for Notre Dame.
-Tim Tebow, the state's third-ranked prospect, saw spot duty at quarterback for Florida, helping the Gators to the National Championship.
-Daron Rose avoided a redshirt at Florida State from all indications could be the Seminoles' left tackle of the future. Rose was rated fourth in the final rankings.
-Like Tebow, Jarred Fayson saw spot duty for the Gators, totaling 126 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Rounding out the top 10 on this year's Florida top 100 are Fort Lauderdale Saint Thomas Aquinas safety Major Wright (undecided), Bushnell South Sumter linebacker Kendall Smith (committed to Florida State), Ocala Trinity Catholic quarterback John Brantley (committed to Florida), Belle Glade Glades Central wide receiver Deonte Thompson (undecided) and Hialeah Miami Lakes running back Armando Allen (committed to Notre Dame).
