When the highlight film of Dallas (Texas) St. Mark's defensive end Sam Acho got out in the open, it became an everyday occurrence of new offers showing up at his doorstep. That hasn't slowed down one bit.

The 6-foot-2, 250-pounder has a scholarship offer that now includes written ones from Stanford, Oklahoma State, Virginia, SMU, TCU, Tulsa, and Iowa. Texas A&M wants him to come in for a visit before it's official and Southern Cal has verbally offered. Oklahoma was also a team that Acho is receiving interest from.
Three early favorites are out in front, but by no means is this a final list.
"I like Stanford, Southern Cal, and Virginia quite a bit, but the rest of the teams are right behind those," Acho said. "USC it's a school that everyone knows is great in both academics and athletics. The community of Los Angeles, I just love the weather there. Stanford is an excellent academic school and I love the weather there as well.
"Virginia, it's one of the top schools in the nation academically and coach Al Groh, I really like him a lot. He's a very personable guy. He seems like a great coach."
Acho, who obviously is putting just as much stock in academics as athletics, is looking at every factor before making a college decision. Visits will tell him a lot.
"I plan on getting out to Virginia in about two weeks," Acho said. "Coach Groh is on vacation right now, so I'm waiting for him to get back before I head out there. I've been to USC once for their camp, but I think I may go back. I'll probably get out to Stanford in August."
Oklahoma and Texas A&M are also possibilities for visits from the talented Acho.
"I'm not really sure when I'll commit," Acho said. "I'm going to try and wait a little longer to kind of see which one school stands out to me. I mentioned the three favorites, but I haven't found just one that stands above the rest.
"Maybe after I visit some of the others, I'll know."
