Here come the Cornhuskers.
One of the most active programs down the stretch of the 2024 recruiting cycle, Nebraska secured another verbal commitment during National Signing Day Wednesday afternoon.
This time it was from Miami (Fla.) Gulliver Prep defensive back Amare Sanders, who picked NU over local Miami, Louisville, Virginia and Duke during his school's signing day ceremony.
"I'm headed to Nebraska, 305 to the 402!," Sanders told Rivals. "Coach (Matt) Rhule and coach Coop (Evan Cooper) have both been transparent with me since the very beginning. They recruited me hard. I believe in coach Coop and coach Rhule, in what they are doing to change that program and what they both stand for.
"You already see the progress that Nebraska is making. I just want to come in and be a part of that positive change and compete at the highest level."

Sanders joins a red hot recruiting class headed to Lincoln, where he took an official visit in the month of June.
"It’s amazing up there!" he said. "I personally love the position that I will be in at Nebraska. Competing at the highest level under a great coaching staff that believes in their guys. I fit in well. This 2024 class that we have is special and sky’s the limit.
"It just goes back to what I said before. Buying in and believing in the process and what Nebraska is all about and stands for. I know a lot of kids in this 2024 class can vouch that coach Rhule is a stand up guy, he’s a coach who believes in his student-athletes on and off the field. He wants to develop, he cares, and he wants to win. I believe personally that’s why people are buying into Nebraska.
Of course the recruiting world is well aware of the program's reach, as it landed No. 1 quarterback Dylan Raiola on Monday evening. That momentum has carried into the Early Signing Period itself and is a part of a galvanized class.
"This class of ours is special and we’re ready to come in and be apart of the positive change that’s happening at Nebraska," Sanders said. "Husker nation… IM HOME! #GBR"
Sanders has experience as a two-way player on Friday nights and also on the varsity basketball squad at Gulliver. He amassed more than 30 scholarship offers as a prep football recruit.
