It has been a long road for Rivals250 prospect Elijah Jeudy. The Philadelphia (Pa.) Northeast edge defender initially committed to Georgia over a long list of suitors but ended up backing off that decision this fall. A few schools were linked to Jeudy once he was back on the market but the other major contender going into his first commitment, Texas A&M, quickly became the favorite. The Aggies finally have their man in Jeudy, adding to an impressive defensive haul.

WHAT THE AGGIES ARE GETTING
Jeudy is an explosive edge defender that brings a lot of versatility to the table. He has shown the speed to be disruptive in the backfield and has the hand techniques to consistently beat offensive linemen that try to slow him down. Jeudy’s athleticism will help him be effective playing in space as well. He should be able to stand up and help in coverage at the next level. There is a low of room to fill out Jeudy’s frame so his exact role will be determined by how quickly he is physically ready to contribute.
WHY IT'S BIG FOR TEXAS A&M
The Aggies are finishing out this recruiting class on a high note with the big time prospects they landed during the Early Signing Period and now with Jeudy. Along with five-star defensive end Tunmise Adeleye and top 30 prospect Shemar Turner, Jeudy is the third highly rated defensive front seven prospect Texas A&M has pulled in within the last few weeks. Jeudy and Aggies signee Jahzion Harris bring some special athleticism to the edge of Texas A&M’s defense and they should help make sure this Aggie defense remains formidable for the next few years.
