What the Wolverines are getting:

Semaj Morgan is a special athlete that is capable of playing multiple positions at the next level, but Michigan will have him playing slot receiver, and contributing on special teams to start. The first team all-state athlete put up ridiculous numbers this season with 61 receptions for 1,015 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also had ten kick returns for 291 yards and a touchdown. Morgan's greatest attribute is his ability to make big plays. He can stretch the field, has great body control enabling him to adjust to any ball, and can take the short throw the distance. He has been on the scene for a while, so many forget that he is still a young player. Once he gets into a college weight-room, and fully develops, Morgan has a chance to be a force at the next level.

Why it's big for Michigan:

Anytime you can get a highly rated player from your home state it is a major win. This shows that Michigan has capitalized on their recent success, and that they are going to ride this momentum to the fullest extent. Their ability to snag an underclassmen from down the street before other national powers get in the mix is huge, and could signal that Michigan is the place to be for the younger Michigan classes. Morgan also reunites with his former high school coach, Ron Bellamy, which shows a big time Detroit pipeline in the making.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

Why Michigan and why now?

"Chose Michigan because it's the best university in the world. This the perfect time to commit, because it's on my time, and I put a lot of thought and prayer in this decision."

Which coaches do you have the closest relationship with on staff, and how did that play into your decision?

"I have a great relationship with coach Bell (Ron Bellamy), and my relationship is growing everyday with coach (Josh) Gattis. I love who loves me, and that's the reason for my commitment."

With Michigan being close to home, how excited is the family to see Semaj play every week? (Answer from Semaj Sr.)

"We are so excited, and can't wait to see Semaj walk out of the Michigan Tunnel to play his first game as a Wolverine."
