CLASS OF 2021 RANKINGS: Rivals100 | Position | Team | State

1. JALEN HURTS, Oklahoma

Hurts leads all players in fantasy points by a decent margin and it’s because of his ability to throw the ball and run it - and that’s exactly what we saw in Oklahoma’s win over Texas this past weekend. The Alabama transfer threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 131 yards and another score in the 34-27 win. Hurts doesn’t have the most passing yards or touchdowns - not by a long shot - but his dual-threat ability has put him atop the rankings and in the conversation as an early round NFL Draft pick.

2. JOE BURROW, LSU

Maybe the story of the year in college football is LSU’s revitalized offense and that’s led by Ohio State transfer Joe Burrow, who was nearly perfect in the Tigers’ 42-28 win over Florida this weekend where he completed 21 of 24 passes for 293 yards and three touchdowns. Burrow - and the entire LSU offense - has been unstoppable this season as the Tigers haven’t scored less than 42 points all season and they were in the 60s twice. Burrow has thrown for 2,157 yards and 25 touchdowns and only three INTs this season and it looks like LSU’s offense cannot be slowed down.

3. TUA TAGOVAILOA, Alabama

Tagovailoa threw his first interception this season at Texas A&M over the weekend. That’s the bad news. The good news is that the former four-star quarterback has thrown 27 touchdowns so far this year and Alabama has arguably the best wide receiving corps in the country, led by Jerry Jeudy, DeVonta Smith and Henry Ruggs. Jaylen Waddle came alive in Alabama’s blowout win over the Aggies and that’s another major threat in the Crimson Tide offense. Tagovailoa is arguably the best quarterback in college football and NFL teams might be tanking for him. He’s been that special.

4. ANTHONY GORDON, Washington State

Washington State has lost three-straight games and recently coach Mike Leach called his team fat, dumb, happy and entitled but through it all Gordon keeps throwing the ball a whole lot and thus putting up huge fantasy numbers. In a 38-34 loss to Arizona State this weekend, Gordon threw the ball 64 times for 466 yards and three touchdowns and you have to love that the Cougars are throwing so often. So far this season, Gordon leads the nation in passing yards with 2,612 yards - 854 yards more than Hurts.

5. JUSTIN FIELDS, Ohio State

Fields has not put up huge passing numbers yet because the Buckeyes are blowing teams out and running the ball so well, but the former five-star quarterback is also doubling up his points passing and running the ball. The Ohio State QB has thrown for just 1,298 yards with 18 touchdowns and an interception and he also leads the Buckeyes with eight rushing TDs, two more than running back J.K. Dobbins. Wisconsin, Penn State and Michigan are still on the schedule but Fields should be able to deliver.
