Week 5 of the college football season is here. Let’s take a look at five quarterbacks who should start this week in your college fantasy football leagues:

Shurmur has dealt with overpowering defenses from South Carolina and Notre Dame the last two weeks and his stats have not been off the charts but this could be the weekend he has a huge game. It’s because Tennessee State is coming to town and the Commodores are aching for a big performance before getting back into the grueling SEC schedule. The Tigers gave up 393 passing yards and three touchdowns to Eastern Illinois this past weekend and Tennessee State can score points so Vanderbilt will feel some pressure to put points on the board quickly.

Paul Johnson was upset with the play of his offense – and Marshall – after the Yellow Jackets fumbled eight times and got thumped at home by Clemson on Saturday. This might be a questionable time to get Marshall in the starting lineup but it makes perfect sense: Georgia Tech’s offense will be highly focused this week and an awful Bowling Green defense is coming to town. The Falcons are giving up 6.4 yards per rush and have already allowed 15 rushing touchdowns. A more-focused Marshall and an angry Georgia Tech offense should put up huge numbers.

Texas Tech’s defense surprised a lot of people and held Oklahoma State to 17 points on Saturday as Cowboys quarterback Taylor Cornelius completed just 18 of 38 passes for 258 yards with a touchdown and a pick. That’s a nice story and all but West Virginia’s offense – especially Grier – is a completely different problem. The Mountaineers should be even more focused and prepared coming into this matchup. Grier, a Heisman contender, has already thrown for 1,117 yards and 14 touchdowns in three games and his receiving corps is far better than the one at Oklahoma State.

It looks like the Tigers’ offense is slowly transitioning to Lawrence after he completed 13 of 18 passes for 176 yards and four touchdown passes in the win over Georgia Tech this past weekend. Kelly Bryant was 6 of 10 for 56 yards. Clemson is probably going to need a lot of points to beat Syracuse because the Orange can score quickly so that’s great news for Lawrence fantasy owners. He’s a superstar-in-the-making and Syracuse’s defense has not faced an offense anywhere near as talented as Clemson’s yet.

Fromm outdueled Missouri’s Drew Lock this past weekend with 260 passing yards and three touchdowns. He must be licking his chops after Tennessee’s defense allowed Florida’s Feleipe Franks to throw for three touchdowns on only 18 attempts as the Vols surrendered 47 points to the Gators. Fromm is completing 72.5 percent of his passes so far this season and he has nine touchdown passes. Tennessee has been blown out by any good team – West Virginia and Florida – it has played, so the Bulldogs’ offense should have their way.
