THE LATEST: Braden Davis stands all of 6-foot-5 and has the length of college quarterback. By looking at him, you’d have no idea he’s yet to play a down of the sophomore season. Alas, that’s the case for the class-of-2022 prospect. He already holds five offers, however, and Alabama and Texas A&M seem to lead the way as things stand.
It’s early, of course, and Davis’ recruitment will likely change multiple times before he signs a letter of intent, but he shares his takes on the Aggies and Tide below.
IN HIS WORDS:
ON WHICH OFFERS STAND OUT:
"Probably Alabama just because of where they rank and how good they are."
ON HOW THE OFFER CAME ABOUT:
"I was at a camp there and when we were done throwing, Coach [Nick] Saban invited me to his office. It was crazy. It was awesome."
ON THE CONVERSATION WITH SABAN:
"He’s a nice guy. He was really down to earth but he tells it like it is. He told me I had an opportunity to play at Alabama and he offered me a scholarship. He just told me about how the school is and all that. I wouldn’t say I expected it because the offer surprised me, but I was coming off of a couple offers that week, so it wasn’t totally shocking."
ON TEXAS A&M:
"I went down there and camped. They were one of my first camps this summer. It was awesome. I had a good time. I talked to Coach [Jimbo] Fisher.”
ON THE CONVERSATION WITH FISHER:
"He was a lot like Saban, actually. He was similar. He told me I could play there and all that.”
ON HOW HE DESCRIBES HIS GAME:
"I describe myself as versatile. I’m a pretty good passer. When I need to tuck it down and run, I can run it. I can do both. I guess I’m more of a pro-style. I consider myself mo0re of that.
