Cincinnati lands big in-state target

Cleveland, Ohio- Cincinnati landed its seventh commitment Wednesday. Cleveland area star Shaquille Washington picked the Bearcats over UCLA, Colorado, and Duke during a press conference at Maple Heights High School.
"The offense they run is perfect for me," Shaq Washington said. "The situation I am coming into is perfect for my family. Cincinnati is 45 minutes from my brother (Jovan, Kentucky State). My father loves black and red. I love support, and me being that close to home, my family can come and support me."

"I will be playing slot receiver, with an opportunity to play early. And on special teams, I will be playing kick and punt returner."
Washington said he is 100 percent done with the process and committed to Coach Butch Jones.
"During the process, Coach Jones was asking me what is holding me back," Washington said. "I told him I didn't want to make a commitment unless I knew I would be able to stick with it throughout the process. And now I feel like it is time."
Washington said UCLA was his number two option.
"UCLA came in late, but I loved Los Angeles. Colorado moved to the Pac-10, that upped their stock, and Duke educationally was just perfect. But on the football side of things, Cincinnati is the best fit. They have been recruiting me non-stop, I have been hearing all the great things, I think that is the right school for me."
